Catalpa Rescue - author talk

Did you know that Rockingham was the location of an international incident when Irish prisoners made a daring escape from Fremantle Prison on an American ship? Come and hear Ormone Waters the author of "The Fenian Wild Geese" telling the story of the Fenian's rescue by the Catalpa off the Rockingham coast. The Library has put together a collection of books about this exciting period in history, Catalpa Collection.

Be Medicine Smart

Do you take medicines regularly? Are you confident about what you are taking and when to take them? Do you have questions about medicines in general. Henry Lie, pharmacist from the Rockingham Hospital will visit the Library and talk about the following and much more:
  • common medicines and their different names
  • knowing which medicines you are supposed to be taking
  • keeping a current medicines list
  • match up medicines programme

Free hearing test in the library. Did you know that one in five Australians - over three million people - have a significant hearing loss? A hearing loss may happen suddenly or gradually, but either way, it's invisible. It often isn't obvious or understood. Australian Hearing is an Australian Government agency dedicated to helping people manage their hearing impairment so they have a better quality of life.
